• Fun Ability Test - Can/Be able to  This is an adapted activity from Teach-this.com.  My students had a lot of fun working through this "ability test" in groups.  I used this test as a way to introduce can/can't & could/couldn't.  The students completed the test in groups, and then we discussed their abilities using the modals.  Afterward, students wrote sentences to summarize the experience.

• Process Writing Powerpoint Presentation   I created this presentation to introduce the idea of process writing to my students.  The presentation includes a brief explanation of process paragraphs, a few models of process paragraphs, and a comparison of a basic process paragraph vs. a process paragraph with detail.  The accompanying handout referenced in the presentation is: How to Wash Dishes

• Which Do You Prefer? - Practice with because   I noticed that my students were really struggling to use because correctly in their writing, so I designed this activity.  It's a class mingle activity that we used later to write sentences.  It's always nice to see the students walking around and talking to each other, so I let them go a bit longer.
